More Green Flags for West Berkshire parks

West Berkshire is flying the Green Flag as having some of the UK's very best green spaces.

This year, a record 1,797 parks and green spaces collected the prestigious Green Flag Award and Linear, Northcroft and Goldwell Parks are among them.

This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.


Cllr Dominic Boeck, West Berkshire's Executive Member for Countryside said, "We are delighted that once again, West Berkshire's green spaces have received this mark of quality. It is the ninth time that Linear park has been awarded and the eleventh for Northcroft and Goldwell. This is testament to the work of not only the council's countryside team but to the commitment of the groups of local volunteers that contribute so much to preserving an maintaining these wonderful spaces."

International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: "We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme.  

"Each flag is a celebration of the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. The success of the scheme, especially in these challenging times, demonstrates just how much parks matter to people."
