Registering to vote

The deadline to register to vote for the General Election 2017, has now passed.

If you registered since the 26 April you should receive your poll cards a few days before the election.

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.

You can also find your local polling station online.

Postal votes

The deadline for new postal vote applications and changes to existing postal votes, has now passed.

You may wish to apply for a postal vote if you're away during the election. You need to make sure that you leave enough time to receive and return the postal vote.

Postal votes will be sent out after 23 May 2017, by Royal Mail.

Proxy votes

Voting by proxy means getting someone to vote on your behalf, for example because you'll be on holiday, working or living or serving overseas on election day.

You'll need to complete and return a proxy vote application form by 5pm on Wednesday 31 May 2017.
