Housing Site Allocations DPD Proposed Main Modifications

Main modifications proposed by the Inspector

We have prepared a Housing Site Allocations Development Plan Document (HSA DPD) and Policies Map as part of our Local Plan which we submitted to the Secretary of State in April 2016. The DPD forms the second part of our Local Plan for the whole of the district, allocating additional housing sites to meet the requirements set out in the adopted Core Strategy. The DPD also contains sites for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople, policies to manage development in the countryside and parking standards for new residential development.

The DPD is currently being examined by an independent planning inspector appointed by the Secretary of State. Examination hearing sessions were held in June and July 2016 and the Inspector issued his preliminary findings on 17 October 2016. The findings are without prejudice to his final report, but set out the main modifications he considers are required in order to make the DPD sound.
