Electoral Review of West Berkshire Council

Have your say on our ward boundaries - draft recommendation

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) is carrying out a consultation on their draft recommendations for new ward boundaries through the electoral review of West Berkshire Council.

The aim of the electoral review is to recommend changes to the ward boundaries that mean each councillor represents approximately the same number of voters.

The LGBCE also aims to ensure that the pattern of wards reflects the interests and identities of local communities, as well as promoting effective local government. In order to achieve these aims, ward boundaries across West Berkshire need to be re-drawn.

The draft recommendations can be viewed by visiting the Commission's consultation portal. The consultation runs between 29 August to 13 November 2017, with the final recommendation being published on 16 January 2018.

Submissions can also be made by email to reviews@lgbce.org.uk or by post to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.

New electoral arrangements for the West Berkshire are scheduled to come into effect at the council elections in 2019.
