West Berkshire Council

Community Champion Award Scheme

Recognising the contribution local residents make to West Berkshire

The West Berkshire Council Community Champion Awards recognise the valuable contribution local residents make to West Berkshire.

There are four awards:

  • Community Group of the Year
  • The Pat Eastop Junior Citizen of the Year Award
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Junior Citizen Award has been awarded since 2001 and was renamed in 2014 after Mrs Pat Eastop MBE who had played a significant role from its inception. The other categories were introduced to acknowledge the wider community.

The criteria for each award category are set out below:

You can submit your nomination using the online form. Word versions of the forms are also available to download at the bottom of this page.

A copy of the pdf icon Community Champion poster [1Mb] is available to print or a hard copy can be obtained from the Community Champion Team. Please feel free to display the poster and promote the Awards.

The close date for nominations is Friday 27 October 2017.

A judging panel of independent representatives met to consider the nominations received.

The award winners were presented with a certificate at the Full Council meeting on 7 December 2017. Their details will also be recorded in an exclusive book called the "Roll of Civic Award" which will be available for future generations to review. The book will be available to view at the Market Street Council Offices.
