[ARCHIVED] Budget Proposal 2016/17 - Phase One: Feel Good Fortnight

Part of the range of West Berkshire Council's budget proposals for 2016/17, with supporting information and Equality Impact Assessments

If you haven't already seen our video explaining why these changes are being proposed, please visit our Budget Proposals 2016/17 webpage.

Feel Good Fortnight occurs every year and aims to raise awareness about activities available, which benefit the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives and works in West Berkshire. The council currently contributes £10,000 to this initiative.

This funding mainly contributes towards publicity materials and various activities that occur during the launch event, such as Chefs Challenge and performers including choirs and dancers.

It is proposed to cease the £10,000 contribution to Empowering West Berkshire for Feel Good Fortnight.

What do we think the impact will be?

We hope to continue to support Feel Good Fortnight in a non financial way, but it is unclear at this stage whether other funding reductions will impact on this.

What else have we considered in arriving at our proposal?

We will continue to support Feel Good Fortnight by contributing in other non-financial ways, such as through contributing staff resources, facilitating additional support from commissioned providers and help to identify effective activities as part of the launch event that are more cost effective, for example community walks, health quiz, healthy food stalls etc.
