The seventeenth annual Learner Achievement Awards were held on 7 June at Shaw House, Newbury. The awards celebrate the success of adult learning in West Berkshire and cover a range of provision including apprenticeships, professional qualifications, and health and wellbeing courses.

The awards were presented by Sam Davies, local children's author and respected cartoonist who is the talent behind the Hex Vet books.

Dominic Boeck, West Berkshire's Executive Member for Education Services said, "The Learner Achievement Awards demonstrate the depth of learning opportunities available to adults across West Berkshire covering all types of learning. Once again the awards highlight the impact education has on people who often have difficult circumstances or need a second chance to succeed in education."
