What is a Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy?

The Berkshire West Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy will set out how health and social care professionals will work together to improve the health of people living in Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham over the next ten years.

The Health and Wellbeing Boards in the three local authority areas are working in partnership to make a difference to residents by deciding where best to focus money and other resources.

Why we want your views

We've spoken with health and social care professionals across the three local authority areas, and looked at the data to see what areas we think it is important to include in the draft strategy. In doing so, we have identified 11 possible priority areas which we would now like your views on.

We'd also like to understand what is important to you, in terms of yours and your family's health, and in what areas you would like us to focus our resources.

You can find more information by visiting the Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) webpage.

For everyone who completes this survey, there is the chance to enter a draw to win £100 of  shopping vouchers.  If you would like to enter the draw, please leave your email address when prompted at the end of the survey.

If you have any queries about this survey, please contact berkshirewestwellbeing@gmail.com

What happens next?

Following this, a summary of your responses will be published on the CCG website. We'll use your feedback to create a draft Berkshire West Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which we'll consult on during spring 2021.

Once approved by all three local authority Health and Wellbeing Boards, the final policy will be published on our Strategies, Policies and Plans webpage.

What you told us

The engagement was intended to be far-reaching and comprehensive, hearing from as many residents as we could . A total of 3,967 responses were received via the online public consultation survey. There was also engagement through focus groups with specific communities. The focus groups were facilitated by our partner groups, including Healthwatch.
Please read the full Public Engagement Report for more details.

What we did

Through the online survey and focus group discussions, public engagement has been at the heart of the development of the Health and Wellbeing strategy for Berkshire West. Residents were able to help identify key themes surrounding the current state of health and wellbeing of Berkshire West, and what could be done better. We’ve used this feedback to develop a Draft Berkshire West Health and Wellbeing Strategy for further consultation
