West Berkshire welcomes Berkley the Bot

A big thanks to everyone who took part in our Name that Bot Survey!

A whopping 46 percent of you voted for Berkley over Berkshire Bot and Ask Gertrude. 

Berkley, an Advice Bot was created by the council in partnership with We Build Bots Ltd (WBB) and has been working with the council's Customer Service Team since April to answer questions and signpost customers on the council's website to the latest Covid-19 information.

We're now working to further Berkley's education to answer a number of the most popular council related requests, for example, waste and highways queries.

Joanne Stewart, West Berkshire's Executive Member for Internal Governance said:

"We're really pleased that our residents responded so well to the survey, it was important to us that they had the last word on naming the Bot that they are increasingly interacting with. 

"We're always looking to help our customers get the information they need as quickly and efficiently as possible and we're working to top up Berkley's skills so that we can streamline that service even further." 

Berkley has had almost 23,000 conversations with residents since joining our Customer Service Team in April. Look out for the icon at the bottom of our web pages and click on it to talk to Berkley.
