Non-Household Waste Charges at Recycling Centres

Charges to dispose non-household waste including soil and tyres

From 4 September 2017 there will be a charge to dispose of soil, rubble, ceramics, plasterboard and tyres at Newtown Road Recycling Centre and Padworth Recycling Centre.

These types of waste are classified as non-household waste, which means that we have no statutory obligation to accept them at the recycling centres. Non-household materials are expensive to dispose of and the introduction of a small charge will allow us to continue to accept these types of waste rather than withdrawing the service.

Charges for each item are listed below and payment will only be accepted by credit or debit card at the sites. (American Express is not accepted)

Please remember to bring your recycling centre permit as terms and conditions still apply.

Ceramic, Rubble, Plasterboard and Soil Charges

The prices below are based on a full load. You will be charged proportionally if your load is less. For example, if you have a standard car and have only filled the boot with soil, you will be charged 50 percent of the price below - £7.15.

Vehicle capacity will be assessed on a case by case basis and will be subject to staff discretion.

Items such as sinks, toilet cisterns and sink pedestals will be charged as single items.
