During this time the Early Years Team are here to continue supporting families and providers as much as they can. Please contact the team on our usual email: earlyyearsservice@westberks.gov.uk, but please bear in that our responses may be delayed due to the increased workload of the team.

If you are a parent looking for childcare or a provider looking for alternatives for your families please contact the team on earlyyearsservice@westberks.gov.uk or you can search for open providers on the West Berkshire Directory.

The government has produced further guidance for Early Years Providers:

Update to two-year old entitlement

The government has announced from March 2020 the eligibility for free early education places for two-year olds will be extended to families that meet the following criteria:

  1. that they are excluded from claiming public funds as a consequence of their immigration status, or their lack of immigration status; and
  2. they are in receipt of support under section 17 of the Children Act 1989

The information on this page is intended for childcare providers. Information for parents can be found on our pages on Free Childcare for Two Year Olds and for Three and Four Year Olds as well as the Early Years Pupil Premium.
