Processing DBS checks on behalf of a business, organisation or an individual

We offer a service to process Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on behalf of businesses, organisations, self-employed individuals and those that require a one-off check based.

You can submit and manage applications from anywhere using our online system, eBULKPlus, and you'll receive the results back electronically.

If you are an organisation or business doing a number of DBS checks, we can provide you with a login so that you can verify ID yourselves, at your own sites, without the need for your staff to visit us.

We can also provide this service to those who are self-employed or individuals needing a one off check. Please be aware that in this instance, we will need to verify your identification against your DBS application. You can do this by visiting our Market Street Offices in Newbury.

Types of checks

The DBS publish eligibility guidance and have an eligibility tool to help you determine which level of check is needed.

If you're still unsure what check is needed, contact dbs.enquiries@capita.co.uk and quote your organisational reference, they will be able to provide you with further support.

Getting set up

To be set up to process online DBS applications, please email the Recruitment team.

We'll send you two registration forms that must be completed and returned to recruitment@westberks.gov.uk or by post to Human Resources, Market Street offices, Newbury.

When we receive the completed registration forms, we will arrange your access to the online system. This will take approximately 48 hours.

You will receive emails from Security Watchdog containing your login information, a temporary date of birth and password. You need to change your date of birth and password when you login for the first time.

You will receive another email advising what information you need to send out to the person you wish to complete an online DBS application.

If you need guidance on using the online system, making changes to your users or to notify us of changes to your contact details, please contact the Recruitment team.

Payment

We will invoice you at the beginning of each month for any DBS checks you have processed, using the information provided on your registration form.
