[ARCHIVED] Draft Council Strategy 2015-19

We are seeking your views on the draft Council Strategy for 2015-19.

The Council Strategy is a document that explains the council's aims and priorities over a four-year period.

The last version was created in 2011, so a new one is now needed for the period 2015-2019.

A new draft version of the pdf icon Council Strategy [11Mb] has been developed by elected members and council officers, and we'd like to know what you think of it.

The strategy shows what we aim to prioritise and improve during the next four years and how we intend to do it.

Your feedback is needed to help us focus the strategy so that it concentrates on the areas that matter most to you.

This consultation closed on 16 March 2015. All feedback will be taken into account and the new Strategy was be considered at the Annual Council meeting on 19 May 2015.

The new Council Strategy can  be view on our Council Strategy and Performance page

What you told us

A total of 118 responses were received in response to the consultation exercise. These can be summarised as follows: 96 (81.4%) from individual members of the public; 2 (1.7%) from Elected Members who responded in personal capacity; 5 (4.2%) from Town and Parish Councils.

What we did

No substantial changes were suggested. However, it was felt that there was a need to clarify that the strategy highlights priorities for further improvement rather than detailing all the services provided by the council. This version was approved by Full Council on 19 May 2015
