Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF) and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund (RHLGF)

We have received our funding allocation from the government and businesses who are eligible for government grants will have received an email to complete and return. Over £20m has already been distributed to local businesses.

If you have had your email or letter, please return the form to us as soon as possible as we want to get your money to you. Those who haven't heard from us should email bratesgrants@westberks.gov.uk.

Additional Discretionary Grant Fund

Following an announcement on 24 May, businesses who are eligible for the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) are now eligible to apply for the Local Authority Discretionary Fund.

All claim forms should be addressed to bratesgrants@westberks.gov.uk

It was announced on 2 May that additional funding would be made available to support businesses according to specific local need. The total grant West Berkshire Council was allowed to allocate from this fund was £1.225m. This limit has now been reached and we must now close the scheme. If you have already applied, you do not need to do anything else. Our team is working through the applications as quickly as possible and will be in touch with you shortly. Please email the team on  bratesgrants@westberks.gov.uk if you have any enquiries.

Social distancing at work

It was announced on 25th May that certain businesses would be allowed to re-open whilst following social distancing guidance. We have compiled a downloadable pack for busnesses to help them with this.

We have also announced that business rate payments due in April and May have been deferred to a later date for businesses in all industries. If you have concerns about your ability to pay your business rates going forward, please email businessrates@westberks.gov.uk. It would help us to respond to you more quickly if you include your full business name, address and telephone number in all correspondence.

There is a wealth of support available to businesses in West Berkshire through the Berkshire Growth Hub. This can be accessed free of charge on the Berkshire Growth Hub website.
