West Berkshire Council Care Homes

Four care homes for older people managed by West Berkshire Council

Having closed our care homes to all but essential visitors in March, we are now taking steps to permit families to once again visit their loved ones safely and in accordance with current government guidelines.

Further information for visitors is available in the pdf icon West Berkshire Council Care Home visitors protocol [100kb]

The Responsive Care Provider Services would like to celebrate and share some of the wonderful things they have been doing over the past few months during lockdown.  Staff have collated a lovely collection of pictures of service users enjoying pdf icon activities in our care homes and resource centres during lockdown [7Mb].

The four care homes managed by West Berkshire Council are:

All these care homes are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Please note that, with the exception of Birchwood Care Home, our homes are residential.  This means that we don't directly employ registered nurses, but we can arrange for community support (such as district nurses) that can come in to meet some medical needs.  Birchwood, as a registered nursing home, does employ registered nurses as part of the staff team.

We provide specialist support to people with dementia in Willows Edge, Walnut Close and Birchwood.
