West Berkshire Council

Additional Restrictions Grant

Grant support for businesses impacted by coronavirus restrictions

The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) is a discretionary grant administered by West Berkshire Council to support businesses who have been significantly impacted by coronavirus restrictions. We have distributed over £5,000,000 to local businesses since November 2020.

The original scheme closed for applications on 30 June 2021, and a revised version has been introduced from 6 September 2021 to support businesses that continue to be impacted or are suffering from hardship.

Businesses may now apply for one of the following two categories:

Type 1: Support for businesses which are directly affected by the legal restrictions on international travel. This includes businesses in the travel and international tourism industries and foreign language schools, and does not include accommodation. Applicants must provide evidence that their revenue has been significantly reduced.

Type 2 (Hardship): Support for businesses which, as a direct result of coronavirus restrictions, are exposed to significant financial vulnerability and require grant support. This category can include a wider range of industries, but applicants must submit substantial evidence of hardship.

To apply, please complete the doc icon ARG application form [77kb] and return with supporting evidence to: BRatesgrants@westberks.gov.uk

Eligible businesses will receive a one-off payment, based on the amounts offered by the earlier Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG).
