Service updates for 19 July 2021

From the 19 July 2021 in England it is expected and recommended that you should wear a face covering on public transport and dedicated home-to-school transport. However, some public transport operators may make the wearing of a face covering a condition of travel (unless you are exempt), please check with operators before you travel.

All passengers travelling should still be prepared to socially distance where possible and wear face coverings when travelling.

Please note: changes to public bus services may happen at short notice, so check with operators before you travel.

If you are still finding it difficult to travel to or from your workplace then contact West Berkshire Council's Community Support Hub on: westberksbct@westberks.gov.uk or call: 01635 503579 to ask for assistance/advice. We may be able to help.

School Bus Services:

Many students in West Berkshire and beyond use the local public bus network to get to and from school/college, therefore since September 2020 they have been changes to service provision across the network in the mornings and afternoon due to social distancing guidelines. This involved some school journeys being for students only and some other journeys being operated by two vehicles, one for students only and the other for members of the public.

School/colleges reopened to all students from the 8 March 2021 therefore the duplicate vehicles that had been in place from September 2020 and had been withdrawn since January 2021 have now been reinstated.

Information on school/college travel can be found on our school transport webpage.
