Are council libraries and the museum open?

Information about council libraries and West Berkshire Museum.

Libraries

All West Berkshire library buildings are now open for book collections by appointment only during limited opening hours and our Mobile Library is running to enable book collections by prior arrangement. Our At Home service is also running and available to anyone who is unable to visit us because of age, disability or other special circumstance.

From 21 September there will be limited public access to our buildings for browsing and borrowing in person. You will not need to book a time to visit, but the number of people within each building will be limited and so you may need to queue to get in. We will ask you to keep your visiting time to about 30 minutes and to use the hand sanitiser provided on entry and exit. Please remember that wearing face masks is now mandatory in public libraries.

We will be offering access to our computers and printing/photocopying facilities, but please be aware that the number of computers available will be fewer than usual because of the need for social distancing.  Each customer will be able to use our computers for one session of 45 minutes per day.
