Public Path Order: Extinguishment of public footpaths East Ilsley 31 and 35

Have your say

West Berkshire Council has made an Order to extinguish public footpaths East Ilsley 31 and 35, under section 118 Highways Act 1980 as the route is unsafe to use and is not needed for public use.

The paths require people to cross the A34, which is very dangerous due to the speed limit (national speed limit on a four lane dual carriageway), on a curve and undulation in the road. There is a crash barrier across the middle of the A34 at this point. There is a safe alternative route 45 metres to the north via the Ridgeway underpass.

For further details please pdf icon see the attached Order and map [2Mb].

Any objections or representations should be sent to the Definitive Map Officer by 8 February 2020.
