EU Exit (Brexit) Preparations

Response to requests for information on our preparations for a no deal EU exit (Brexit)

We are continuing to evaluate and understand the potential local implications of a no deal EU Exit (Brexit). We are taking a joined up approach to planning, and by working closely across teams and external suppliers, we can ensure the continuity of services for businesses and residents. We are in regular communication with wider networks to ensure efficient planning and response mechanisms.

You can find more information for residents and businesses ahead of the UK's exit from the EU here.

We hold a number of documents relating to the potential impact of the EU exit on West Berkshire which, given the fluidity of the situation, are subject to frequent change.

Information recorded by us for the purposes of planning for the EU exit is exempt from disclosure at this stage, under Section 36 (2)(b)(i)(ii) and 36 (2)(c) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, as disclosure would be likely to inhibit the free and frank provision of advice and exchange of views for the purposes of deliberation and prejudice the effective conduct of public affairs.

The pdf icon exemption annex and public interest test [129kb] sets out the reasons for this.
