Parking Review Amendment 28 REF: 006038MS

Statutory advertisement of Traffic Regulation Order

This consultation is closed.

This Order is proposed to improve road safety at identified problem locations. It will address obstruction concerns related to inconsiderate parking along the route of the A4 Thatcham to Newbury cycleway and will resolve issues related to resident parking, together with the management of parking on highways in various locations across the district.

The doc icon parking plan explanatory notes [33kb] provide the locations and the reasons for the proposed parking restrictions.

Before amendments to the existing parking Consolidation Order can be brought into force, a public consultation must take place. If objections are received they will be investigated and a report prepared for the Executive Member for Highways and Transport to consider what action to take under Individual Decision and whether to proceed with the proposal as advertised.

What you told us

At the end of the statutory consultation period 81 responses and objections had been received, including comments from Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council and Pangbourne Parish Council (PPC). Two petitions were also submitted.

What we did

An Individual Decision report was prepared for consideration by the Executive Member for Highways and Transport which took place on 20 December 2018.

We will now prepare a works order with our contractors for those elements of the parking scheme that have been retained and will be seeking to have the amended parking scheme implemented before the end of 2018/19, subject to favourable weather conditions for our road marking contractors.
