[ARCHIVED] Cold Ash Zone: Weight Limit Order

Statutory consultation on a weight limit order

This consultation is closed

This order is necessary, to clarify and consolidate the current weight limits in the Cold Ash area which are fragmented.

  1. There is currently a 7.5 tonne weight limit signed on Fishers Lane, there is no valid order for this limit

  2. Slanting Hill is signed as a 7.5 tonne limit, no order has ever been made for this

  3. The industrial estate at Sawmill Road is included within the current limit meaning that large vehicles can travel across Cold Ash to access it; this will be excluded from the new order

The new order has been written so that all the access points create a zone from which large vehicles are excluded unless they have valid reason to access the zone. Various other road have been included in the new order to create the zone, these are Lawrences Lane, Tylers Lane, Stoney Lane and the unnamed road across Grimsbury Castle.

The resulting order will be a ban on commercial vehicles over 7.5 tonnes.

Please note there is a drafting error in the draft order, Tylers Lane is wrongly identified as Terrys Lane, this will be corrected in the final documents
