Targeted Intervention Service (TIS)

TIS works with partner agencies provide support to children, young people and their families where:

- Children or young people are at risk of, or subject to, Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
- Children or young people go missing from education or home
- There is parental substance misuse, parental mental health and/or domestic abuse
- Children or young people are on the Edge of Care
- a family is at risk of a breakdown
- there are young carers

TIS is made up of Social Workers, Family Support Workers and Youth Workers, who work sensitively and creatively to support children and young people within their family, and those children and young people who are not living with their own family, to achieve their full potential.

TIS works with children, young people and families to create a plan to help improve their lives, making sure everyone's voice is heard. These plans are reviewed after six weeks, and three months, and can be extended if necessary, to help monitor the progress of the family.

TIS is not an early help service, but works closely with partners to provide them with advice, guidance and approaches that may be helpful to families.

If a professional or family member believes that support from TIS would be beneficial they need to contact CAAS to discuss what support may be available. They need to have identified that without help from TIS, the family is more likely to continue to deteriorate or breakdown completely, resulting in them needing help from a statutory service.
