Parking Dispensations and Suspensions

About a parking dispensation or a parking suspension

From 1 April 2020, dispensations moved to a virtual style scheme. All applications cam be made through the MiPermit Portal. Once the virtual dispensation permit is active it covers the vehicle registration number specified in the application. Vehicles will no longer have to display a dispensation notice.

The cost for a dispensation from 1 April 2020 is £15 per bay (5 metres), per day.

For more information please see our doc icon terms and conditions [28kb].

If you need to be parked on an area of public highway where a traffic restriction is in place, you would need to apply for a parking dispensation or suspension .

Read our doc icon rules and regulations [45kb] for more information and complete our doc icon application form [89kb] to apply.

Applications for parking dispensations and suspensions will always be subject to advice from our Traffic Management team about safety issues.  Applications may be refused if there are safety concerns.

Please remember that all applications for the placing of a skip in parking bays or on yellow lines must also have a skip licence as agreed with our highways team.

Suspension and dispensations are only issued if you need to have regular access to your vehicle - they aren't issued as an alternative to paying a parking charge.  We reserve the right to issue and withdraw dispensations and suspensions at our discretion.
