Blue Badges (Disabled Parking)

Blue Badge disabled parking scheme

From 07 September 2020, our telephone line for enquiries and payments will be open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. 

Where possible, please continue to send all queries to bluebadges@westberks.gov.uk. Please note that our officers are unable to answer queries in person.

The revised Blue Badge eligibility criteria recently announced by the government will not be effective until 30 August 2019. Please read our doc icon Eligibility Guidance Document [36kb] for further details.

If you're an existing Blue Badge holder, you should complete the application form at least 28 days before your current badge expires.  

Badges are issued to individual applicants and organisations that transport disabled people.

How to apply


To apply for or renew a Blue Badge, use the online application form.

If you apply online, supporting documents that can't be scanned must be submitted by hand or via post.
Digital photographs may be submitted by email.

Lost Blue Badge

If you have lost your Blue Badge, please complete the doc icon lost/stolen application form [86kb]  or get in touch with the Blue Badge Team.
There's a £10 fee for replacing a lost badge.

If you would like further assistance with your application, please contact the Blue Badge Team by email or by visiting our Market Street Offices, where one of our team will be happy to assist you.

We'll ask for a payment of £10 upon success of your application. Please note that payments can no longer be taken direct by the Blue Badge Team. Please call our payment line 0330 131 9742 and select option three, then option one.

In addition, Blue Badge holders who make regular use of the Kennet Centre or Northbrook multi-storey car parks in Newbury can apply for inclusion on the Licence Plate Recognition System.
