What is an apprenticeship?
We are looking for people who want to bring fresh ideas and innovation to the council and who care about their community.

We think a great way to get the best talent working for us is via an apprenticeship.
An apprenticeship is a job that combines practical training with study so you'll get paid to learn. What could be better?
An apprentice will:
- work alongside experienced staff
- gain job-specific skills
- earn a wage and get generous employee benefits such as holiday pay
- be given time for study related to their role (the equivalent of one day a week)
We have apprenticeship opportunities in most of our departments, some examples include:
- HR Support: level 3
- HR Consultant: level 5
- Payroll Administrator: level 3
- Adult Care: levels 2 and 3
- Social Work Degree and Occupational Therapy Degree
- Teaching Assistants and Early Years Educators
- Data Analyst
- Business Administrator
- Paralegal
And a wide range of others!
