The Family Placement Team (FPT)

The Family Placement Team work with foster carers in West Berkshire. The Team is responsible for recruiting, assessing and training Foster carers. Each foster carer has an allocated Supervising Social Worker who provides ongoing placement support and supervision.

Family Support Workers offer placement support, working alongside Supervising Social Workers. They undertake Health and Safety checks of foster carers homes and support carers with meetings where appropriate in the absence of Supervising Social Workers.

The Placement Officer sources and secures placements for children and young people. They also provide duty cover when the allocated Supervising Social worker is unavailable.

Specialist Therapeutic Workers offer Therapeutic intervention for children in placement to help support placement stability. In addition they assess therapeutic needs and offer consultation to carers and professionals where appropriate.
