Energy Switch Autumn Auction - Can you get a better deal?

The fifth round of the West Berkshire Energy Switch is now open for registrations.

West Berkshire Energy Switch Scheme (autumnal colours)

The fifth round of the West Berkshire Energy Switch is now open for registrations.

As the nights start to draw in and the heating is switched back on, it's time to consider whether you could get a better energy deal.

According to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, 67% of electricity customers, and 66% of gas customers are on standard tariffs. These customers are paying an average of £117 more for their electricity and £134 more for their gas each year, than those on fixed tariffs.

Millions of people benefit from switching to a better deal. Similarly, millions stay loyal to a provider that is costing more. There are many reasons for this but among the most common is that people are concerned that switching may be a difficult process. However, it couldn't be simpler to find out whether you could save some cash by switching using the West Berkshire Energy Switch.

The West Berkshire Energy Switch is offered by West Berkshire Council in partnership with the Big Community Switch. It's a free to join scheme which gives households the chance to make savings on their fuel bills.

Since May 2016, it has saved switchers over £75,000.Those households registering and switching in the May 2017 auction saved an average of £173.71 on their annual energy bills.

A one day auction will be held on 10 October 2017, where suppliers compete with their best offers, the winning supplier/s then send households a personalised offer for consideration. There is no obligation to switch, you can sign up and see if you can save.

Registration is open to all West Berkshire households.  Register online at  West Berkshire Energy Switch or call (01635) 503267  by midnight on Monday 9 October to be sure of taking part.
