Call for Sites for the Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA)

Call for sites for housing and economic development

Written on: 22-12-2016

We need to maintain an up to date picture of the amount of land that is available for new development, including land for housing and economic development.

'We are now inviting landowners, developers and others to submit potential development sites for us to consider as part of our Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA). The HELAA will not make recommendations on which sites should be developed but will make a preliminary assessment of their suitability and potential. The information we gather from this process will help inform our new Local Plan which will allocate sites for housing and economic development to cover the period up to 2036.

If you would like to submit a site to us to consider for development, please download and complete the pdf icon Call for Sites form [215kb].

Please note that sites that may have been previously submitted to us will now need to be submitted afresh with updated information.

.

Please read the guidance notes on the form and provide as much information as possible to ensure your site proposal can be carefully considered. A separate form will be needed for each site.

Please bear in mind that information on submitted sites will be publicly available and cannot be treated confidentially.

The period for submission of sites is 23 December 2016 to 31 March 2017. Although it will be possible for sites to continue to be submitted after this time, they may not be able to inform the next Local Plan.  They can however be considered again in future updates to the Local Plan or by parishes preparing Neighbourhood Development Plans.
