Draft refresh of the Newbury Town Design Statement

Public consultation

The local community in Newbury has carried out a refresh of the Newbury Town Design Statement, which it originally produced in 2005, and we are currently undertaking a 6 week period of public consultation on the Draft version of this document. The consultation period will run from Friday 6 October to Friday 17 November 2017.

The draft refresh of the Newbury Town Design Statement is available for comment on our consultation portal.

 


Stratfield Mortimer Neighbourhood Development Plan

Following a positive pdf icon referendum result [45kb] on the Stratfield Mortimer Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) on 22 June 2017, West Berkshire District Council has made the Stratfield Mortimer NDP part of the Development Plan for the purposes of managing development in the parish of Stratfield Mortimer.

From the votes recorded, 1375 (88.8%) of those who voted were in favour of the plan and 172 were against. The turnout of electors was 50.09%.

Adoption of Housing Site Allocations DPD

The Housing Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) was adopted on Tuesday 9 May 2017.

The Housing Site Allocations DPD forms part of the development plan for the district. It will implement the framework set by the Core Strategy by allocating non-strategic housing sites across the District in accordance with the spatial strategy of the Core Strategy. The Housing Site Allocations DPD also allocates sites for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople, sets out residential parking standards and policies to guide housing development in the countryside.

Stratfield Mortimer Neighbourhood Development Plan

The referendum on the Stratfield Mortimer Neighbourhood Development Plan will take place on Thursday 22 June 2017. Further information on the referendum can be viewed online.


Minerals and Waste Local Plan Preferred Options Consultation Has Now Closed

From Friday 19th May to Friday 30th June at 5pm we are consulting on our Minerals and Waste Local Plan - Preferred Options.

The Preferred Options Local Plan sets out proposed policies to guide minerals and waste development and proposes sites for allocation for mineral extraction.
