Adult Safeguarding

Every adult has the right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. Sometimes this is more difficult for those adults in our community who may have care and support needs. Safeguarding is about all of us working together to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect, whilst making sure the wishes of any person experiencing abuse of neglect are central to any solutions.

We all have a responsibility to make sure everyone in the community can live their lives free from abuse and neglect. In order to achieve this, we work collectively with other organisations and groups to prevent the abuse or neglect of adults who may have care and support needs.

We have produced a pdf icon Safeguarding Adults Leaflet [1Mb], to help people identify an abusive situation, know what they can do about it and where to report it. You can also see an pdf icon easy reading version [1Mb] of the leaflet.
