[ARCHIVED] Parking Review Amendment 26 - Ref 005549MS

Statutory advertisement of Traffic Regulation Order

This consultation is closed

This Order is proposed to improve road safety at identified problem locations, will address obstruction concerns related to inconsiderate parking and will resolve issues related to resident parking, together with the management of parking on highways in various locations across the district.

The pdf icon overview of the proposed amendments [54kb] provides the locations and the reasons for the proposed parking restrictions.

Before amendments to the existing parking Consolidation Order can be brought into force, a public consultation must take place. If objections are received they will be investigated and a report prepared for the Council's Executive Member for Highways and Transport to consider what action to take under Individual Decision and whether to proceed with the proposal as advertised.

What you told us

21 responses had been received, including comments from Newbury Town Council and Thatcham Town Council. Analysis of the comments and objections, together with officer comment is detailed in the Individual Decision report.

What we did

An Individual Executive Member Decision report was prepared which considered the comments and objections. This was presented to the Executive Member for Highways and Transport on 28 February 2018.
Having carefully considered the objections received, it was decided that the proposals were still necessary and should be introduced as advertised and without amendment.

The respondents to the consultation were notified of this outcome.

The works instruction will be submitted to our contractors during March 2018 and it is anticipated that the Traffic Regulation Order will become operational during April 2018 (subject to favourable weather conditions for the road marking contractors).
