West Berkshire Council

Contracting for Health and Social Care

Commissioning is the process by which the council decides how to spend money to get the best possible services for local people.

It's defined as the cycle of assessing the needs of people in the local area, designing services that meet those needs, and then delivering them while making sure they're effective. Our role in contracting is to secure the best outcomes for our local communities by making use of all available resources.
